Seven and a Half, free and nothing to download
Seven and a Half (siete y media) is the classic Spanish card game of family get-togethers, and here you don't even need a deck. The phone deals, each player checks their cards in secret and decides whether to hit or stand before going over. Then the bank plays, which can be one of you in turns or the phone itself. It takes a minute to explain, and every card you ask for is a small leap into the void. You can also play each on your own phone by creating a room: everyone sees only their own cards, hits or stands on their turn and, at the end of the round, all hands are revealed at once.
Tips and variations
- With 5 or more it's already risky to hit: only an ace or a face card keeps you from going over.
- Face cards are worth half a point, so with 7 you can still go for an exact seven and a half, which pays double.
- If you're the bank, watch how many cards each player asked for: whoever hits a lot is usually close to the limit.
