Privacy policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This is a courtesy translation of the privacy policy, originally written in Spanish. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails, without reducing the information and safeguards this version gives you.
At Jugueo we process as little data as possible. There is no registration, we do not ask for your name or email to play and we do not show ads. This policy applies to the jugueo.com website and to the Jugueo apps for iOS and Android, and informs you under articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection (LOPDGDD).
1. Data controller
- Controller: Rubén Zambrano Casas (Tax ID 49023426F), Avenida Cataluña 35, 28703 San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid), España
- Contact: [email protected]
2. What data we process
- Data saved on your device. Player names, favorites, recent games, scores and settings are saved in the local storage of your browser or, in the apps, of the app itself, which is not sent to the server automatically. The only things that leave it are a few anonymous traits read by the visit statistics (see below) and, in online games, the key to your place in the room, which Jugueo sends to identify it. You can delete them whenever you want: on the website, from your browser settings; in the apps, from your phone's settings or by uninstalling them (details in the Cookie policy).
- Microphone (applause meter only). If you give permission, the applause meter measures the volume of the applause on your device during each round. No sound is recorded, stored or sent.
- iOS and Android apps. The Jugueo apps show this same website, so they process the same data described here, with two additions: the visit statistics record whether you use the iOS or the Android app and its version, and texts read aloud are spoken by the phone's system voice, without leaving it. The phone's movement, in the games that use it, is also processed only on the device, and the notifications you turn on (a timer ending, the game of the day) are scheduled by the phone itself, without going through any server or push service. On iOS, if you are signed in to Game Center, the score of some games (Simon Says, Higher or Lower?) goes to the Game Center leaderboards, Apple's service, under Apple's policy; it never reaches us. Apple and Google, as app stores, process the download data under their own policies; we only receive their aggregated statistics.
- Anonymous counters. When you open a game, mark it as a favorite or vote on a dilemma, we add 1 to an aggregate counter. We do not store who did it, your IP or any identifier.
- Game suggestions. If you use the suggestion form, we store the text you write and receive an email copy containing that text. We do not ask for personal data; please do not include any in the text (neither yours nor anyone else's).
- Online games (each player on their own phone). If you create or join a room, we store on the server the nickname you type and the state of the game while you play (for example, each round's answers or drawings), which only the players in that room can see. Your device receives a random key to get back to your place in the room, and the site sends it to the server with each request for that room to identify your place; the server only stores a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of that key. We do not store your IP or any other data. The room and all its content are deleted automatically when it ends (see Retention).
- Visit statistics, without cookies. We count visits with our own analytics tool (Umami), installed on the owner's server and served from
stats.zamcaslab.com: pages viewed, browser, operating system, device type, language, approximate country and the website you came from, and how Jugueo is used: games opened, games started and finished, searches typed in the search box, use of favorites and online rooms, clicks on the contact, share and support buttons and on the links to the app stores, and errors, as well as how long each page takes to load and respond. To do this it reads some technical details from the browser or the app (such as the language and the screen size) and, from local storage, a few anonymous traits: whether you have opened a game before, how many favorites you have (in ranges), the theme you chose and whether you use Jugueo as an installed app. It never includes nicknames, room codes or the text of suggestions. Each visit and each event is recorded separately with a pseudonymous session identifier, without your IP or anything that would reveal who you are. It does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not track you across other sites. We do not count your visits if, on the website, your browser has “Do Not Track” enabled or if, in the apps, you turn off “Anonymous statistics” in the More tab. - Error reports. If something goes wrong, a technical report of the error (what failed, on which page, browser or app and operating system) is sent to our own tool (GlitchTip) on the same server, served from
errors.zamcaslab.com, so that we can fix it. It does not include data that identifies you. - Emails you send us. If you write to [email protected] (for example, a question, a notice of illegal content or a request about your rights), we process your email address, the name you sign with and the content of the message, only to answer you and handle your request.
- Technical data. The server may temporarily process the IP address for technical purposes to prevent abuse (rate limiting). It is kept only in memory and is not stored.
- Checking that you are a person. When you create an online game room or send a suggestion, Jugueo uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person is doing it and not an automated program. At that moment your browser or the app connects to Cloudflare, which analyses technical signals (the IP address, the technical fingerprint of the connection, the user agent, that is, which browser or app you use, and the website the request comes from) and returns a one-time code that our server checks. You will almost never have to do anything; occasionally it may ask you to tick a box. It does not set cookies and Jugueo keeps nothing from that check.
3. Purpose and legal basis
- Running the games and remembering your settings: legitimate interest and provision of the service you request.
- Finding out which games are used most in order to improve Jugueo (anonymous counters): legitimate interest.
- Visit statistics and error reports, to know what works and fix errors without identifying you: legitimate interest. You can object at any time by writing to us and, to the statistics, also without writing: by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser (on the website) or by turning off “Anonymous statistics” in the More tab (in the apps).
- Managing suggestions and receiving an email copy of each one, in order to consider new games: legitimate interest in improving Jugueo with the ideas of the people who use it. We do not ask for personal data and you can object by writing to us.
- Running online games: provision of the service you request when you create or join a room.
- Checking that a person creates a room or sends a suggestion (Cloudflare Turnstile), so that no automated program can flood the service with rooms or emails: legitimate interest in protecting Jugueo and the people who use it.
- Answering emails: legitimate interest in replying to the people who write to us; for notices of illegal content and requests about your rights, compliance with a legal obligation (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the Digital Services Act, and the GDPR).
4. Recipients and transfers
The website (which the apps also show), its visit statistics (stats.zamcaslab.com) and its error reports (errors.zamcaslab.com) are hosted on the owner's own server, in Spain, managed by the owner: no third party processes that data. These providers act as data processors:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which traffic goes through to serve the website and the apps securely (content delivery network and protection against attacks) and which technically processes the IP of each visit. Its email forwarding service (Cloudflare Email Routing) receives the emails sent to [email protected] and forwards them to the owner's mailbox. And its Turnstile service checks that a person creates a room or sends a suggestion. For that check it is a data processor; in addition, under its own privacy policy, it uses those signals as a controller to improve its detection of automated programs.
- Google LLC (Gmail), which hosts the owner's mailbox that receives those emails.
- Resend, an email delivery provider, which the owner's mail relay uses to send the copy of each suggestion to [email protected].
Cloudflare, Google and Resend may transfer data to the United States with the safeguards required by the GDPR (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). We do not share data with anyone else, unless required by law.
Voluntary contributions are made on Ko-fi, outside this site: Ko-fi and its payment provider (PayPal or Stripe) process your data as independent controllers, under their own policies. Jugueo only receives the notification of the contribution with the amount, the name or alias and the message you choose to share on Ko-fi and, if Ko-fi provides it, your email. We use them to thank you, keep the accounts and, if you ask, refund the contribution: legitimate interest and, for accounting and tax records, compliance with a legal obligation.
5. Retention
- Data on your device is kept until you delete it (in the apps, also until you uninstall them).
- Visit statistics data is deleted automatically once it is 25 months old, by a monthly clean-up (so a record may last up to 26 months). Backups that may contain it are overwritten within about 7 more months.
- Error reports are deleted after 90 days.
- Suggestions are kept for as long as they are useful for deciding on new games and for 3 years at most: after that period they are deleted automatically.
- The emails we receive (questions, content notices, requests about your rights and the email copy of each suggestion) are kept for 3 years and then deleted.
- Contribution data is kept for as long as tax law requires (4 years in Spain) and then deleted.
- Online game rooms are deleted automatically along with their nicknames and all their content: after 30 minutes if nobody else joins the room, 15 minutes after the game ends, after 2 hours without activity and, in any case, 24 hours after they are created. Only an anonymous counter of games played remains. The key to your place is removed from your device when you leave the room or when Jugueo finds that the room no longer exists.
- Jugueo keeps nothing from the check that you are a person: the one-time code is discarded once checked. Whatever Cloudflare keeps is governed by its privacy policy.
6. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to [email protected], in English, Spanish, Italian or French.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state where you live, work or where the alleged infringement occurred. In Spain, where the controller is established, it is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, aepd.es).
7. Minors
Jugueo can be used by families, but some games have adult levels that are clearly labeled and intended only for people aged 18 and over. Online games, which store each player's nickname while the room lasts, are for people aged 14 and over; children under 14 need the consent of their parents or guardians (article 7 of the LOPDGDD). Other than that, we do not collect personal data from anyone, including minors. If you believe a minor has given us data without that consent, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Cookies
Jugueo does not use cookies, on the website or in the apps. What is stored on your device and how to delete it in each case is explained in the Cookie policy (in the apps, “Storage and data” in the More tab).
