Game of the Goose, free and nothing to download
The age-old Game of the Goose, ready to play on a phone passed from hand to hand. Each player has a colored piece, rolls the die and moves square by square around the 63-square board. The classic rules apply themselves: from goose to goose, from bridge to bridge, the inn, the well, the maze, the prison and the dreaded death square. It's gripping because nobody has the game won until they land exactly on 63. You can also play each on your own phone by creating a room: whoever's turn it is rolls on theirs and everyone sees the pieces move instantly, even far apart.
Tips and variations
- Play with two dice if you want a shorter game.
- Count carefully near the end: if you overshoot 63, you bounce back.
- If someone is stuck in the well, landing on it is the only way to rescue them.
